Forming an LLC by yourself is not hard. Online resources for do-it-yourself kits are a mere Google search away. I would suggest doing all the work yourself: typing up everything, downloading the filing forms, filling them out etc.
Put it all together and then have an attorney review it - that will save a lot of money.
The NY Secretary of State website has a fee schedule listed. Articles of Organization are $200; that is the biggest, but there are others such as Reservation of Name=$20.
