How To: Request For Notice Of Default - California

Can one of the experts help me with the mechanics? If I have a junior lien - secured by Trust Deed - and want to be notified when a lien senior to mine is in default - do I file something with the junior trust deed saying in effect "please let me know if anyone senior to me defaults"? OR do I identify each senior lien and file something that refers to that trust deed and ask "please let me know if this trust deed defaults"? Is the thing I file a separately recorded document? If there are two liens senior to mine, do I file one or two of these documents? Thanks in advance.
