first of all don't say you are trying to help them, they will not trust you. they feel as if all the world is against them. for me i dress casual so not to look like a slick salesman. i ask them if "this house is in trouble" it is less of a threat to them. i just try to have normal conversation at first to get them at ease. how about the weather, are these your children, is that a boxer bulldog, ect.......km

for me i tell them i try to seem as a small co. they seem to talk to a individual better than a rep. for a large co. they feel that the large cos. have put them in f/c. i act dumb to a degree. or maybe i'm not acting...lol....as amatter of fact this is how i talk to them. they usually are people down on their luck and need someone to understand and they don't see that coming from someone in a mercedes or in a suit. but when i drive up in a pickup truck, it is new by the way, with my dog in the back. they begin talking to me right away. why, because i'm one of them, and i've been there and i know what its like........km
I think that I've done all I can do to be ready to go out and knock on m first door. Im just so nerveous. All day today im thinking about how it will go down tomorow when I knock on the first few doors. I dont really have a script or anything because Im just going to go for it and whatever happens happens. I think that if you really like what you do then it should be a natural conversation. Hopefully all goes well tomorow.
That is such a ice breaker now that I think about it. Bringing the dog with you!! Honestly--Brilliant. lol. I can agree with you about being an iddiot. Im a cheerfull person and I think that I can also make a friendship with the erson just by hanging out with them.
