A property in preforeclosure doesnt have a judgement against them yet, so that may not be a good place to look. Generally you can go to the Circuit Clerks office and ask for a list of Lis Pendis or foreclosure folders. Some court houses keep them in a seperate filing area, and some mix them in will all civil cases. Tell them that you want to view the 5 most recent foreclosure folders, and then work your way back. Hope this helps, and Best of Success!

Do yourself a favor if you live in a large metro to find a company which will provide the information electronically. Here in Chicago we have a provider once a week deliver all the new filings. The cost is expensive but well worth it.
