Opportunites In North Carolina

ligem profile photo

I will be in the Raleigh, NC area next week. I want to check out some property while I am there. Can anyone out there advise me about the following:

-areas in or around Raleigh that I should be looking at

-how one researches Notices of Default (foreclosures in general) and REO's

-which area banks tend to do the majority of residential property lending

-any suggestions for locating property that is distressed and available for sale

-if there are any special things to consider when investing in North Carolina (I live in New York)

-how do you find area investors that are looking for bird dogs

Thanks in advance for your help

Hi, I got your response that you sent to me at the birddog forum.
As far as Raleigh goes, I don't know much. It is about 3 hours from where I am in Charlotte. All I can tell you is to do a search for the Raleigh County Government website. There you might find info or phone numbers which will lead you to foreclosures. (the tax assesors office can tell you) I know that in Charlotte they are listed on the County Courthouse Board and also in the Mecklenburg Times. I'm sure Raleigh has a newspaper like that. You could also do a search for Investment clubs in that area, call them up and see if there are going to be any meetings while your in town and also ask them if they can point you in any directions as far as birddogging etc...If you haven't done so, post something like "Looking to birddog in Raleigh, NC", but in the birddog forum. I don't know about area banks you could use fo residentials, but there are some lenders for NC listed at this website at the top under " Lenders". I hope this has been of some help. I am a little new at this and haven't gone beyond the Charlotte area. Let me know if I can help in any other way. Hopefully someone with more experience can guide you better. Good luck and enjoy your stay in Raleigh! Sarah
