Newbie Trying To Break In To The Market

My husband & I are trying to begin our REL investing. What is the best way to find properties (currently I am trying RealTrac - but have read that the info is outdated). I would prefer not having to go down to the court house....is there any other online service that would be useful?? Also, what am I suppose to look for at the court house?

I am in Ohio, so anything specific to my area would be greatly appreciated. confused

So you want to break into REI - but you do not want to go to the courthouse - so tell me how do you plan to check the title to make sure it is marketable?

Are you planning to pay for a title search on all possible deals?

What type of foreclosures are you looking for?

    Court house advice-

Can anyone tell me my legal rights to information in court houses. I stoped in the office of a small town and they wanted me to pay 10 cents a page to copy a large document and would not let me read it. Do we have to pay to view this information?

Sounds like all you can do is sue them in small claims to get your money back. You could also offer to buy the property from them if you have the money! See if they will quit claim the property to you and bring up the past payments current. Then you could refi the property...

You could wait as well! Once the property goes to foreclosure the new owner will certainly be knocking on the door. You could then rent from them!

Once you get the trustees deed, the property is legally yours! This said... you are the owner!
