  A great way to find investors is to hang out at the Sheriff Sales downtown Chicago. You will find alot of investors. In Cook County there is a sale at 10:30am Mon-Fri at 33 N. Dearborn Suite 1000. 11:00 Mon-Fri at 120 W. Madison suite 718A and one at 12:00 noon at the Daley Center on the 7th Floor. You will find so many investors with cash money.   Adding to what Greatlakes says, I'd take a bunch of brightly colored fliers to pass out to the other attendees of the Sheriff's sale. No law says you can't use that event to adveritse YOUR RE.

  There are some great investor clubs in your area. I would find the closest one and make some connections and get established. I'm not sure what part of Chi-town your in, but there are lost of investors there. It's a start, hope this helps. Good luck
