Foreclosure

I visited the courthouse to get a list of preforeclosures. All I got was the name and some case numbers. Where do I have to look for the address of the property? And is there a way I can look up by cities? confused

    Hi Shai,

Some courthouse clerks may be hisitant to help you unless you tell them exactly what you are looking for. In some instances (they can lazy). Ask them for the 10 most recent forecloure file folders.

You will need to read the papers inside each foreclosure folder to find out the address of the property. The folder usually contains when the last payment was made by the homeowner, how much they originally borrowed, what the total balance due now is, who the bank is that is foreclosing, etc. That is all in the case folder.

Some case numbers look like this
03CH00074. Just pay attention to the last number (74). and the following week when you go back to the courthouse, ask for the latest foreclosure files starting at 03CH00075. If you ask the clerk specific questions, they are more likely to help you. And just so you know, your court house will list every NOD for every city in your county. So if you want a specific city, you will need to weed through the files to find the city and addresses.

    Best of Success,

    Hi,

I have thesae prb. What I do is input their name into the county appraisers website, the address and the name pops up. If I get a multiple listing of the same name, I just input into the county's web site and search the lis pendens online, which contains more info than the paper listing. I have yet not been able to figure out the correct address. Hope this helps, Tim Oh yeah, the guy who is head over the foreclosures in my county said its a pain in the rear, but he has to search for the address the same way ...

    Hi shai
the website Tim was referring to was his own counties website..you can go to a search engine or call your county offices to see if they are online..one other note also..on the LIS Pendens document the legal description is usually listed,so when you look up the name at the property appraiser's office or website, make sure the legal desciption on the LP matches the legal description on the property appraisal sheet
