Most companies are scam artist and in some states they are illegal.

First, there are credit repair providers that are worthy.
Not sure of any states that they are illegal in?
Not all states require licensure/bonding though.
A good rule of thumb is use only a pay for performance providers. Yes they exist.
This is spelled out in C.R.O.A. (Credit Repair Organization Act - This spells out not the consumers rights like the masses love to publish but HOW a provider can provide services, charge fees etc.) and just like any good or reputable services provider/contractor worth his/her salt, money up front surely separates the good from the wanna-bee’s. You pay only when items are corrected by one of the 3 repositories, evidence of correction is mailed direct to you from each bureau, you pay provider.
I wanted my scores higher sooner than later. With self help there is a learning curve thus it takes longer as evident by the last post. Mine took about 210 days from start to finish 32 items, 93 points later I am a happy investor.
So that my 2 cents and experience hope it helps…

    Hi,
If you go to officemax/officedepot they offer a credit repair kit for under $40. No quick results, but it will get you at the very least, in the right direction . If no success, keep your receipt & get your refund! Just a suggestion, Mark
