Try doing a search on the internet for Lesko he has a lot of books on government grants and would surely cover this. Also if you try the governments HUD or SBA sites they will have the information as well. If you are serious about building these types of housing you may also want to look into forming a non profit corporation to get the tax benefits and reduced prices or free help associated with helping the handicapped.

    Good Luck,

Suggeet subscribing to MUTLIFAMILY a periodical for developers of , guess what, mutltfamily projects. They just did an article on this topic. Also suggest you get intouch with your city/county. There are Grants. there are tax credit programs, and there are developers that specialize in getting that money for your projects. Your local gov guys ,like the housing authority will know or the economic development people.

If you really like paper work and red tape you may also apply for tax credits to help finance a project like this. It will take years and thousands but if you are finally awarded them you can get cheap financing. With rates as low as they are I would not fool with the govt BS and just build it and they will come
