Only if you know what your buying and all of the cost of ownership. You will also need to know what you can rent them for and have a plan to market them.

I have known people who would buy them and make money with them.

But before you jump make sure you really want to buy.

    Regarding Timeshares...

I own two timeshares that I use for personal use and I purchased both "aftermarket" which is the only sane way to purchase timeshares. You mentioned ebay, which is a good way to purchase for yourself as long as you don't let the auction emotion dupe you into a higher price. BUT, if you buy via ebay, know that you are highly unlikely to get a sensational "investment" deal and be very careful regarding monthly maintenance costs. These can range considerably and are prone to go up over time (and can eat you alive). As with any investment, do your DD and make sure you understand all of the costs. Also, be careful as there are many properties that are not real desireable, especially those that only have a quick claim title. I personally think that timeshares are NOT a good investment per se (even if you get a really good deal) as there are so many on the market ALL the time and could be a tough quick flip. If you plan to rent the week(s), make sure it is highly desirable and be prepared to do alot of marketing. Good luck! craiggans
