Short Sale

Can anyone clarify for me the process of doing a short sale. I will be talking with a couple whose house will be going to the sheriff sale in February. How do I go about conviencing the mortgage company to do a short sale with me before the sheriff sale?

I work full-time in the education field. I have been investing in real estate for 5 years now. In 1-2 years I plan on teaching part-time and eventually quit completely.
Since you have a rewarding career already, then investing part-time would be perfect for you.
I, personally, am ready for a change.

I think this would depend on what kind of REI you are planning on doing. What are you interested in?

Personally, I have had a hard time trying to invest part time. I find myself consumed with it and not getting anything done with my other business. There is so much information to learn and so many ways to invest in RE. I read books, hung out at the courthouse, talked to my mom (who manages part of a title company) learning as much as I could for several years before really getting into REI and like I said I am having a hard time doing it part time.

    GoGetter,

I have a full time job and a part-time teaching job. Real estate investing consumes almost the remainder of my time. Most of this time is involved with management or ownership issues. This dictates the type of transactions that I do since my time is very limited. I tend to use real estate agents and concentrate on tax deferred exchanges.

    Regards,
    Ed

I work a full time job and invest in real estate full time. I do work 7 days a week, but have no problem because my passion drives me to do both. Hard work breeds success... You can make it happen.
