Is It Redundant To Run A Title Search AND Get Title Insurance?
If I arrange to purchase title insurance from a title company, won't they run their own title search ahead of the closing? So would it be redundant to pay them to run a search...then also purchase the title insurance too?
Yes they will run a search and the cost of the search is included in your title insurance.
Thanks, I think I'll try my hand at running my own title search just for the experience then. As for title company I'm trying to choose between Chicago Title or First American. I want to work with one that will give me extras in exchange for giving them business...like free searches or comps in the future.
