Investor Labeling

I was just wondering why would I need to put the label of investor on myself? I am not licensed I am not a professional (in progress) I have a forty hour a week job other than investing. I own many different kind of stocks and I dont label myself as an investor Cant I just be a guy looking to own a few rental houses to supplement my income? or to expand my portfollio? I get the feeling around my area that Investor BAD, average Joe smoe GOOD Is there any bad legal trouble I can get into? Do I have to tell the seller "I am an investor?" I know it sounds stupid, but just wondering about placing an add stating Local family in XXX county looking to buy fixer-upper homes. I am looking for something other than "I BUY HOUSES" blah blah blah mainly because I think there are at least 10 different variations of that in local paper. and why would they call mine? Food for thought please :-?

    Another OR 'investor'. Hello.

    As to the label. It has no legal standing. You could call yourself a lemon. The word investor is a label that tends to mean something to other investors in that we know what you are likely to be thinking when you view a deal.

    Being difference can help in your advertising.

    You just have to represent yourself honestly. There is a lot of room to then developer an ID within the range of honest labels.
