Has Anyone Used Governement Money To Buy Rentals?

If you have used governemt money (loans or Grants) to buy, and/or rehab a place that you then use as a rental I would like to hear your story. How did you do it? Would you do it again?... etc. I have seen on the HUD site the buy a house for $1 for cops and teachers but what I am wondering is there help out there for investors? Look forward to your insight.

    I have been reading about some programs here in Minnesota they sound good but will have to do some more work. Anyone else?

    Goveryment loans, yes. I have used VA and HUD loans. Grants, no.

    government grants are available in certain areas to needy people wanting to own their own home.

    They are not for landlords wanting to make their fortune.
