Getting Started...
I would like to get started in real estate investing but I do not have any idea where to start. I have ordered the Carleton Sheets material and it provides good information but no starting point. I looked at a Homevestors franchise but the startup costs are prohibitive. I recently found a company called Real Net USA and they seem interesting but I have not done my due diligence. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
Sounds like you are tossing around a lot of different ideas, I would reccomend doing your due diligence, finding an area you want to specialize in (after possibly researching many options) and focusing on that aspect.

I would try to find a real estate group or club around you that you can attend regular meetings. There you will find people who are successful in this game. Talk to them and ask them what they are doing (rehabbing, flipping, lease-optioning, etc.) and see if you can start by bird-dogging for those investors. They will give you the criteria they want to see and you can go find deals.
Try that on for size!
