Getting Into The Game In SW Florida!

Hey everyone,

I'd just like to introduce myself to everyone. My name's Alex I live in the Naples/Fort Myers area of Florida. I'm a young guy (18) but I'm extremely serious about the real estate business. Real estate investing caught my eyes more than two years ago when I read Kiyosaki's books. Since then I've had a dream to buy, hold, and rent out properties for immediate cashflow and longterm appreciation.

I really want to learn from all of you, I know there's a lot of really experienced good hearted people here who are helping people like me learn the business! I've been reading as much as I can and I've noticed a lot of folks from the Florida area which is cool.

I'd love to do some networking and I'd love to hear some suggestions as to how I should start out with what I've told you guys here. I would really like to do some bird dogging just to get the feel of things. I feel like I really just need to work with a couple people to get me started. I'm tired of just reading books, learning and not taking action.

    Any recommendations?

I have only about $3500 in capital to work with (that's what I've been able to save from working in the passed 5 months) But the properties in my area are usually very expensive.

    I need some guidance!

Hey I'm with you man...I'll be 21 this June. We are young but we have the best advantage out of anyone on this board. You know why? We are starting earlier than most.
I am going to be getting Ron LeGrands course, soak up the knowledge from that and this board and start making offers.
I live in Miami its so expensive here also...I am starting to look about 100 miles out for the deals.

Awesome point. I lived in Miami for a couple of years, I know how it is over there. I'm also just trying to learn more but I really feel like I just have to get out there and just experience everything with other people. I guess my next step is to find a real estate investor club.

    Hi Guys:
I started my investment career by reading allot of material and networking in June of last year; I pursued my first property in September and I am now working on my 6th property. I rehab properties so I am not acting as a bird dog; however, the only thing I can recommend is that you set aside all your fear and just do it. Both I and my wife were scared but we eventually just went ahead and did it because the numbers just made sense. We are now very happy that we did; one thing is very important and that is to network. We were fortunate enough to hook up with a real estate broker that is looking after us and we look after him. Our deal is that he gets all of our houses (to sell); for that he does the preliminary check-up of house/s when we find them. He tells us how many houses are available, how many houses have sold in the last 6 month and how fast he thinks he can sell the house/s. This gives my wife and me some security regarding the deal.

All I can tell you guys is that you guys are young and you are going down the right path. I wish I would have known about this real estate investment stuff when I was in my early 20: ish. I am now 33 and I have been working with computers all my life but this has now gotten me more excited and my wife and I are now working hard on making sure that we can quit our day job.
