How do I find real estate auctions and foreclosure auctions? Are either of these done on the courthouse steps as I have heard of?

A lot are done every month. Over 900 here in Travis county including tax and mortgage sales. Happens every first Tuesday rain or shine or Holiday. Jan 1 I believe last year was a Tue. These are posted at courthouse about 3 weeks before the sale. Our area is a nonjudicial foreclosure where the courts are not usually involved. Other States have a sheriff sale that is court ordered and the sale dates differ but they are sold at the court house. The IRS also sells property at auction and you can check their web site too.

It really depends on your location. Here in Ohio there are sheriff sales, GA has auctions on the courthouse steps, etc. Do a little research by calling the clerk of courts, bet they would know.
