At A Legrand Class This Weekend

investorgrl profile photo

Hello all,
I just went to a Ron Legrand seminar this weekend. I'm feeling a little out of sorts though. They made it sound like we would be ready and capable to do our first deal at the end of the three days. Now they're saying we only know enough to be dangerous and that we should purchase their more intensive boot camps. Anyone out there that's been already? confused

That's how my wife & I first got a grasp of REI.

His information is great, but the fact that his marketing staff claim to want to help you get started on one hand, and on the other hand are constantly offering the NEXT bootcamp, that ranges from $3000 to $10,000 which will ultimately make you the INVESTOR you ought to be, was really a TURN OFF. Especially, when they originally sold you on the first meeting already with the words: "We will teach you everything you need to know to do your first deal."

So, why the need for another bootcamp when we haven't even cracked open the package of CD's they first sell you at the free meeting? (I kicked myself in the @?#$! when I learned on this forum that those same CD's sell on EBAY for only $200-300)

You've got to give yourself a budget & stick to it. You can be determined to succeed...but don't let others fool you into getting more broke than you already may be by allowing them to prey on your dream.

    Just my 2 cents.

Let me first say that Ron Legrand has sold that company and he is only used as a marketing tool.

It is called SDI Wealth Institute.

I attended a boot camp. Same thing. Hard sell was a big turnoff. And it was deceptive in that they promise you that you will be ready and then say that you are not.

Well listen to those CDs you havent cracked into yet. The info IS there!!!

Never met Ron, but he is excellent.

You have a lot of posting info on this site.

You need to set up a team of professionals.

Figure out what techniques you feel most comfortable with.

    Financing?

And then when you have no more questions or excuses you will ultimately have to go out and make some offers and get a deal or two.

Maybe at that point you can invest more in education. I wouldnt find a problem with it, but they did annoy me a little with the big in-your-face sales push.

Ron Legrand courses are good, but the hard sell is terrible. Take waht you have learned, ask a lot of questions, build your support team, and get started!!Succes comes by doing!

    Prosperous investing,

Thanks to all who answered my email. Before I went I read through the 3 binders and all the CD's. I was also under the impression that we would be able to do our first deal. I don't have any experience so I thought maybe the boot camps would give me the necessary info. They offered my partner and I two boot camps for $5K. Which is $2k off. We just don't know whether to feel scammed or excited about more on hands education. I would love some more input. Thanks
