Articles Of Agreement???

Can anyone explain to me what an article of agreement is and how it is used in real estate? I am from Penn. and I hear this getting tossed around alot by realtors. I am thinking it is a Pennsylvania thing only...good ol' PA!! LOL

    There can be many types of articles of agreement as that is a very generic term. You may be refering to Articles of Agreement for Warranty deed, in which another name for that is Land Contract. This is a wrap-around financing technique in that the buyer makes montly installments to the seller and the seller likely will make underlying mortgage payments. Buyer's obligation is only to the seller-not any banks. Once all installments have been made, the deed transfers into the buyer's name. Of course you can refinance this at any time because holding a land contract gives a person equitable title (terminology of Iowa, may not be for other states).
