Scott Rister's Wholesale Course

HOLLERatG profile photo

I'm going to get my start in CREI by wholesaling in order to build up the capital to get involved in other ventures. I was all set and ready to order the LeGrand module, but then I heard about this course by Rister.

If anyone out there has purchased this course please share your opinion on it's worth. It promises to be more informative then LeGrand's, and everyone seems to swear by that one. If it truly is a better, more informative program, I'll shell up the green.

Thanks in advance.

Well it's been almost 2 days and no response. Either no one has bought the course, or the ones who have didn't like it. I'd like to know more. Thanks.

I have seen Ron LeGrande and hear that his course is expensive but I have heard from newbies that have gotten off to a fast start after purchasing his stuff.
I went on a bus tour w/Scott. I liked him alot and almost bought his course but short of cash so I didn't at that time. I might buy later. He was great and very approachable. He offered to be a coach if you are truely motivated and ready to go. He seemed like he would be very helpful after the sale of his product .
I think LeGrande covers more of everything but more expensive
Personally I would like to have both

Scott's course is great. He covers a lot of material. Wholesalling is what he specializes in. Including having all your buyers know about your deal 15 minutes after you signed the ink. I can't recommend his course highly enough. I don't have Legrands course. The only other thing to say is that he relies on his own marketing efforts not on the mls. So he doesn't expalin strategies for finding them through there. But it is well worth the money.

I purchased Carlton Sheets, Robert Kiyasaki and 20 other books. These are all fine but the forms are generic, the info is very basic and may not apply to your state.

Start right! Join your local Realestate investment group.

I did last week, If I had done this 9 mos. ago, I would have saved all the money I bought on the above and used it towards my 25th deal.....

As it stands, I haven't made one yet. I have joined a local 'mentorship program' and my investment club is having a 5 week hands on..out in the field training..... Doing real deals from beginning to end..All for $125

    You decide, Good luck

Thanks for the input, everyone. I didn't see any Philadelphia area clubs posted on this site, so I'll be searching for one.

I like the fact that Scott seems approachable. To me Ron LeGrand has always seemed like a name to me, not a real person. Guys like $Cash$ who give you their friggin' cell phone numbers are a breath a fresh air in this era of the removed guru.

I'll be making a decision soon. Thanks again. I've been learning alot from this forum. It's very well done.

Hey guys. Just thought I'd give this one more bump in case anyone missed it. Haven't heard any negatives, so that's good. Not as many recommends as i expected.

    Thanks for your replies.

I've not gone through Scott's material so I cant comment there. Ron LeGrand's materials are good, and expensive .. they do get redundant after awhile. Right after redundant, you move to information overload. LeGrand was bought out awhile ago and is a figurehead at SDI Publishing (they may have had a falling out..I have heard rumors of such). The only reason for that comment is that the materials may be a bit dated at this point if he is not involved.

If you have a specific style of RE investing you want to take a crack at, look for a teacher/guru that focuses in that area.

Hey G,watup!I received the ron legrand course 2 weeks ago and have been listening to it none stop.He claims to have brought and sold over 1000 properties which would make him somewhat of an expert. His course is detailed and also very motivating and for 225 you can't beat it (check e-bay or do a search on ron legrand and you won't be able to miss the web site advertising it for that price)Steven Cook's "Wholesaling for quick cash" book is also very informative and probably enough information for anybody to get ****Must Reach Freshman Investor status before posting URL's***f your interested in joining a rei club there is one in plymouth meeting, check ****Must Reach Freshman Investor status before posting URL's*** and if your interested I'll be willing to sell my steven cook audio ****Must Reach Freshman Investor status before posting URL's*** am also a newbie in the philadelphia area.

Has anyone here done the Russ Whitney Wholesaling bootcamp? I want to do it as I live right where he bootcamp is (Dallas/Ft. Worth). It is very expensive!! $4000 for 2 people. YOu get 3 intense full days on nothing but wholesaling. You take a tour in the field and they say you may have the chance to get a deal under contract in that 3 days.
However, I feel that joinging a local REIA and these boards and reading on my own, that may not be necessary. Any comments? Any of you Whitney grads? Or take any of the other Whitney bootcamps?

I have one more question about the course for those who have purchased it.

Does it concentrate more in purchasing and rehabbing before reselling or is it more of a flipping-accented program. Just curious. Right now, I'm not in a postion to purchase properties. I'll be flipping/assigning to start.

I to have been looking for that same mixture as you, providing that wholesale base approach with the ability to approaching assignments and sub2 when profitable and necessary. This post (http://www.thecreativeinvestor.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=Forum&file=viewtopic&topic=17125&forum=19) May be of service to you.
