Out Of State Agent Looking To Flip

I currently live in NY and recently went to Maryland, lovely place that is, to inquire about fliping properties.. As of now I don't know where to start. Anyone have a good agent or maybe even a good auction house to buy and sell???

Inquiring minds want to know!!!!

    Have you considered going to any of the REI meetings there? You might find investors either locally in NY or in MD who would be willing to buy properties from you. I think most wholesalers try to sell to other investors rather than use agents when they can.

    Investing at distance is difficult for certain types of business. If you are doing deals where you need to see the place to make a decision it will not work. If you are funding someone else who is the eyes and ears it can work if the relationship is strong.

    Why MD from NY? You have PA, MA, Conn and NJ closer. Do you want to be in MD for some reason?

    As you will note from my signature I invest at distance. I am just saying it is harder when you are getting started and definitely harder for some styles.

    Thank you for replying, I've tried in New York going to a REI meeting here all to find out, it was a complete hypocracy.. I'm sure there are many reputable REI firms in NY but I haven't been able to locate any as of yet. The ones posted to this site have been quite disapointing in this area. But I will heed your advise and look for an agent, souldn't be too hard to find being that I am a licensed realtor myself . Thank you Robert. Enjoy..

    Thank you for replying, I do think you are correct in saying investing at a distant can be difficult, but it's done everyday, expecially in a place like New York, MD for me is only a 2 hour ride and I do have relative that are quite successful at flipping there, so that would be my ( . .) eyes and ears as you might say,

    Why MD opposed to PA, MA, or Conn, too much red tape expecially in CT. PA and MA I know nothing about and would like to do my first deals under the watchful eye of someone that knows more about the business than a rookie like myself.
