Pay For A Membership Here? What Gives??!
Joel and whomever else runs this place,
I don't frequent here often, in fact, I'm rarely online posting at all these days.
When I do though, this is, or was, one of the boards I'd check.
I always try to give back to the REI world and offer advice and guidance where I can.
I don't sell a thing on your website, and frankly, when trying to get with someone from here about that, no one ever called me back. Not a big deal, since I make my money investing primarily, not selling books.
anyway......
Now, I get an e-mail telling me someone wants to send me a private message from this board........seems silly, since I have a valid working e-mail they could use, but hey, private messages are free so I logged on to see what awaited?
Well, apparently nothing important, because now you want me to pay you to use your board, and get my messages..............I don't think so.
So, if anyone here wants to reach me, check other boards for my e-mail address, since urls and whatnot are banned here.
I REFUSE to pay for a private message when 99% of the time people talk/write/post with me online, they are asking ME questions and seeking help.
By the way, my advice, its free, even on my forum, which is also FREE. Not advertising, just stating a fact.
Anyway, logging on to read a message that was left for me, and then being told I had to PAY to help someone else..........ain't gonna happen.
Too bad too, this place did seem to be doing well and taking over the numero uno spot for REI websites.............
I just don't see folks paying for things they can and do get FREE elsewhere.
Anyway, my two cents and venting........enjoy your investing and paid posting.

We should get together it has been a while.
I have been making a few posts on your site, because I know you are out doing subject to deals and are busy. Even had one of your posters ask me about my material vs yours, I told him we have different syles, but actually mine is better. LOL
So let's set up a meet at the Branch Ranch, ate there the other day great food.
