Suggestion: Don't Mix Politics With Investing

craiggans profile photo

Well, well, I see this topic comes with many views, but this is supposed to be an investment thread and thought I would just say two things...one is that I truly appreciate every vet and enlisted person as I value my freedom (I missed the draft by 1 year and chose not to go into the military) and give my sincerest condolances to those families who have lost a loved one...and two is that I wish people would do their dd on investments as much as they read the propaganda that goes on at election time. It is funny how the press will take nearly everything out of context for both viable cadidates and of course only provide selective news (typically a negative spin) on what is currently going on with the economy, nation and world events (especially with the current incumbent). Let's just hope that who ever is in the White House in November, they will keep all of us safe, free and able to continue to invest in a growing ecomomic future. Good Luck in your next investment! Craiggans,

Under any other forum topic, you would be correct about not discussing politics (in fact, it would doing so would invite a penalty). This thread, however, is not an investing thread. Random Ramblings exists for the discussion of everything but investing. Not trying to give you a hard time; after all, as a moderator, I appreciate people trying to keep the discussion on track but in this specific location we allow a little more verbal latitude than is normally extended.

    craiggans,

    Glad to meet you.

You will find that all the Moderators on this forum go along Tim (et) on this one.

Personally I stayed away from posting on this thread because I think that there should be a "none of the above" on every election ballot and a place for write in candidates of your choice.

Enormous Trousers for President. Tim has my vote for helping put this site together and his dry sense of humor.

    Sen. Locke,

It is an honor to be offered the party's nomination though, sadly, I must decline due in large part to the fact that my well-documented ties to the north Jersey crime syndicate, which I will refer to only as LCN, have rendered me "unfit to serve in public office" according to several leading legal authorities. I will, however, continue to accept campaign contributions for the remainder of the election year.
