Real Estate Database?

BGile profile photo

Hi,
My name is Brad and I have been reading different types of courses teaching me about investing. The problem is that all of my books tells me to start a database on my computer tracking all of my leads that I have called and generated so that I can have all of my future and current clients in one database. The thing that is driving me nuts is that they don't recommend a software that you can use to do this. All they say is put your lead in the database on your computer. Can someone please tell me a software or application that is good for keeping up with potential leads. Thanks

As far as a contact database is concerned, I really like Act!. I beileve it is a product of Best software. Do an internet search on Act 2005 to find information

Excel works fine for my needs, I may move to access once I get more leads, business going. These are both Microsoft Office components.

Whatever method works for you is what you should use, some people stick to pad and pencil, I prefer spreadsheets right now.

Nothing personal Brad and welcome aboard......but the rest of you......lets READ people. (this should be posted in the appropriate forum)

    Random Ramblings
Talk about anything EXCEPT real estate.

Now lets talk serious......why is it that when I get a bag of doritos, cheetos, fritos....that the bag is only half filled.

Me thinketh that this is a conspiracy against junk food that ends in ....."tos".

I think we all need to write our worthless congressmen and give them something to do besides spend our money on things I could care less about........now fritos, doritos and cheetos is a worth wild cause.

    Brad,

I know a lot of people who use Act! It may meet your needs, but I need more flexibility. I am also not thrilled with Outlook, but I do use it for my contacts. There is also Goldmine. It is more robust than Act!. I have used it in the past, and really like it.

Use OpenOffice. It's Free. It's Fast. It's Customizable.

Or you can just hire me to design a database/website FOR you! smile

I knew my cubicle life in the tech sector would come in handy someday!!!

All kidding aside, I write my own software for tracking this stuff; everyone has different needs and different tracking metrics.

I'm really psyched to hear someone else uses open source software! Long live the GPL and GNU license systems!
