Using Websites To Get Prospects.

reinatalie profile photo

There are companies that offer to set up a websites, which would bring prospects. The prospect would either fill out a form or call.

These companies charge initial set up fee as well as monthly fees. They state that they do a lot of marketing, and they do appear first in yahoo or google searches.

If anyone used such websites to find prospects, please give your opinions.

What do these guys offer you? Just to set it up and market it so you rank well in search engines?

These things aren't much to offer you. If they aren't performing miracles for your business, I wouldn't pay over $30/month. Website maintenance is very easy and very cheap.

Also, don't believe anyone who tells you they can help you rank higher in search engines. With a little research, you could do that yourself in about 10 minutes. Very simple stuff we're talking about.

Are you already investing? You probably would do well if you referenced your website in your ads and business cards. I wouldn't expect much business to come from people who happen to find you on the web.

If you can find a lead source tied to Notice of Defaults that gives the property owners telephone number. Then that I would buy. I have searched but see it nowhere. God how I would like to get the E.Mail address of persons in foreclosure. It would make my life very simple. It is the way to go but so far I cannot find such a directory. Accordingly when I wish to contact a Notice of Default person I still have to get up and go out and drive to the house, get out and knock on the door. Many times no answer so I just keep it up. Wish I knew a better way but I do not. Letters, Flyers, Postcards, They all end up with me going there knocking on the door and then if I am lucky I get to talk to the person. Sometimes motivated and sometimes not. You just have to plug along.

Does anyone have any recommendation as to where to go to create a website, that would not cost very much?

    Hello!

Ok, step away from the computer and take that money that the Webpage dude wants to charge you and print up banit signs, reading: I Buy Houses. Call Me Anytime At: areacode-prefix-number.

You can buy their place Subjet To their existing financing, with a lease option, or for cash -contingent of course to your partner's approval.

Get a piece of paper & a pen a set them by your phone.

Take names and numbers and spend your time with motivated sellers.

Billy Shallowpockets or Mary Jane Rottencredit isn't going to look on the Net to sell his or her place right now. He'll see your sign on their way home or on their way to the grocery store and call you.

    Thanks,

    OTW :-D

I agree that you should take whatever money you would put into this web service and invest it in other direct response techniques such as signs or mailers.

I wouldn't worry about a web site until you have leads coming in from other "offline" sources.

I use my web site simply as a supplement to my offline marketing, but it does not generate leads on its own. There are some ways you could actually attract sellers to your site, but again, I don't think that is worth pursuing until your offline marketing is in place.

A web site IS a good way to distribute information and add some credibility to your business however. So when the time is right, I would add it to your marketing system. Good luck!

    reinatalie,

Are you aware that there are number of sites available where for a fee you can become an affiliate? One of the advantages to these sites is that someone else has put up all the money to create, test and market the site. As an affiliate you can take advantage of another marketing tool and you will add to your credability to your business. Good luck.

Our website pulls in plentyou of contacts for buying houses. It is easier for people to visit the website than to call, less intrusive. We had ours set up for $350 ish. The trick is to advertise it on EVERYTHING. That is how you get people visiting your site. Best to you.
