Who Is Responsible For Home Repairs?

hjbays profile photo

I am currently in a lease with option to buy i have about 6 months left on the lease. the house doesnt have adequate heating - no heating in any of the bedrooms or living areas. we were just going to suffer through the winter again but now the septic system is overflowing into our yard. i have no idea why this would be happening and called the property manager who we leased from - well to make a long story short she said that the house is my responsibility. the house is also not weatherized along without having sufficient heat and now a biohazzard. do i have any rights here? would there be any possible way to get out of my lease before it is up? :-x

Take out your lease and read it line by line. It probably delineates your responsibilities, along with what you can do to terminate the lease.

    Good luck to you.

you need to read your lease agreement. most likely it puts you squarely responsible. your septic overflowing can be your exit line between your tank and and your field lines { about a 5 to 6 foot schedule 20 or 40 pipe} is crushed causing your tank to over flow......km

to terminate your lease? there again you need to read your agreement it will tell you the terms of termination. there is no standard release or property pervisions all are different. you must read your agreement to find out. if you paid a downpayment with your l/o most likely you will forfiet .........km
