Robert Allen Worth It?

OzNovice profile photo

G'day guys,

Just seeking some general advice. I advertised in the local paper today that Robert Allen is in local area (Seattle) offering free evening seminars.

I know these tend to be just "teasers" but are they still worth attending?

General views on Robert Allen and his principles?

Advice on "best mentor" for lease options - Finkel/Conti or Wendy Patton?
As I want to do one of the boot camps.

Cheers,

Batts

    Been there. Spent too much.

If you have deep pockets and cannot read, go. Pay. And pay some more. and then maybe you will still do nothing. Most who pay do nothing, then pay some more later. They become seminar addicts but investor failures. How the gurus must love these guys!

Some books you get now are elaborate infomercials that give you concepts but for hard details, you must pay thousands.

The best thing about free seminars is the local people you meet, some who have money and don't know what to do with it. They can sometimes partner on deals or provide private money to make it happen for you. Go with that in mind and you might come up a winner.

    Good luck

The real benefit to these things as I see it is (as the former poster said) meeting people (number one), and secondly the opportunity to hear the various speakers and what they have to offer...before deciding on who you'd would like to follow.

But the best advice I can offer anyone on this subject is: Do not spend a penny on anything until the last day. And then make sure there's a good money-back guarantee should you learn upon opening the box the “real” goodie and the “real” deal is another course or boot camp.

The best L/O guru? IMHO, it’s anyone who has done a hundred deals, speaks good English, writes well and who will openly admit that the L/O violates the due-on-sale clause without the world "technically" in front of the statement..

Definitely Not worth it. Robert Allen is a great salesman, but his nothing down strategies had major financial flaws. I am a professional real estate investor in Atlanta, GA I can tell you from personal experience that seminars can't give you the one thing you really will need...experience. Get local help from people who are successful in your marketplace. Pay them if necessary, work for them if you can to gain experience.

Robert Allen (and his OMM pal, Mark Victor Hansen (the chicken soup guy)) are liars! The free seminar will be worth the trip because the guy that will give it may be someone you can mentor with. RA won't be there except on a video.
