Seller Hid Termite Condition . . . Can I Sue For Repair Costs?

InActive_Account profile photo

I bought a house to rent in October. The seller provided the required Disclosure, although he checked the "No Representation" box for each item, including the presense or prior presence of termites. The renters left early and I went in this weekend to get it ready to rent again, I noticed a weak spot in the floor, and to make a long story short, it was due to termite damage in the bathroom . . . the same bathroom that has signs of recent renovations. So if the seller renovated the bathroom, including replacing damaged flooring, do I have grounds to sue, and what specific charge(s) can I make?
Thank you in advance for helping.

This may differ from state to state, but I think if you can show that he knew of existence of termites you may have grounds for action. Do you know who did the work on the bathroom floor? If they notified the seller of termites, that would show that he knew.

My guess is though, that showing the seller knew about it is probably difficult to do.

    Good luck.
