How Do I Get This Tenant Out???

jda profile photo

The person who owns this property currently resides out of the state. He bought the property sight unseen and now wants to get rid of it. The problem is that he rented it out to a tenant without a contract and now doesnt know how to get them out. They stopped paying him rent two months ago. Wants to evict them but doesn't know how to go about it. Any suggestions? :-?

Quickest way for you would probably seek out an attorney that specializes in it. They will you through the whole process doing most of the work. it can be done in as short as 15 days and may take as long as 2 months... the longer you wait to get started the longer it takes........You can do it yourself BUT I wouldnt recomend it the first time.......

You can not help unless you have a RE license.

If you want to buy agree a good deal and then have an expert manage the eviction.

Likely the person will move pretty quick once the papers are filed.

I have done multiple evictions but I always had the paperwork signed up front. Without an agreement you will have a slightly slower process.

Make sure you stick to what is legal or the process can be stopped. Make your deal contingent on successful eviction with the costs coming out of the deal. Otherwise just stay away and the other owner will get more motivated.

thank you for the advice. I have contacted an attorney and they have pointed me in the right direction as far as how to get started. Now im a little curious as to why i cannot help unless i have an RE liscence (please excuse my ignorance). Could you elaborate on this please? Thank you. By the way these forums and your input has been the light at the end of a dark tunnel. grin
