Young Investor Needs Advice How To Go About Things?

Hi, i'm 22 years old and have grown up with a rough childhood with loving parents who are very poor. I'm very motivated and determined to be successful in real estate and not only establish a net worth but create one for my family also. I've ordered the Carlton Sheets program, read many books and reviews on the internet and i'm sort of ran around in a circle. I dont' know who or what to trust.

My step dad is a builder so my aspiration was to look into foreclosure's and Reo's and distressed properties so we could fix up the house a little bit and then flip it and make as much profit on it as we can. As my knowledge grows, keep doing this and putting my money back into properties. Can someone help me and please give me some advice to either what I should be doing, or a valid resource I can use, or learn from. Something, or someone I can trust. I don't have a mentor, or dont' really know anyone that does this.
Anything will help. Thank you

Chad confused

i know it can get discouraging when things dont go as planed or fall through,
but one thing i know you have to do is stay focused , always keep a smile on your face when talking to others, family or not, portray to others who you want to be ,and soon you will be that person....
one thing that was brought in one of these forums was that you have to find a option or creative way of buying property and use that one over and over ,any that dont fit to that way, leave it alone ...dont throw it away ,becuase it can always change later ,but pass it by for now and find your comfort zone..your option
then when you make enough $ to use on other property then re-evaluate,find another onw or two options...and go from there.
    hope it helps

Well, you are on the right track by joining this forum. I myself am a newbie and will be closing on a duplex in a couple days which is generating decent cash flow.

As far as resources, this site is chockfull of it. Explore everything (links, freebies, articles, etc.) . Keep reading the posts here (even if the subject doesn't seem relevant to your situation) and YOU WILL LEARN a lot as I have.

you should look into real estate investor groups in your area. By joining one of these groups you will meet people who can help you and also put you in touch with other people who can help you. Also read all the articles and posts on this website.
