Listings From The Recorder's Office?

I am a junior investor and researching on foreclosures or NODs. I would like to know that if I go to the recorders office will they give me information about the listings I want like the NODs, mortgage sales,etc. Also, how do I ask for them? Like I want an experienced person to advice me on this. I mean like how to talk to them about this. :-S :-S :-S
