Hello Everyone!
Can anyone tell me how to get financing for a employed non resident of the u.s waiting for legal status through marriage of a u.s. citizen that is not employed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Sally

    Sally,

    1. It is not easy. Less about the status and more about the lack of a credit score.

    2. There are lenders who do deals for UK buyers of FL property. As I spend some time in the UK I can check around and see if I can turn up some names, These lenders are used to foreign status.

    3. The general answer is to have a large down payment and then you can use a loan that does not care about status. Credit score can still be a problem but even that becomes less of an issue.

If you need specific help I believe a mortgage broker friend can provide some advice. He is in CA and works with a few clients who are not from the US.

Thank-You for the information! Seems to me because of the lack of a large down payment and was hoping to add closing cost to the loan this probably won't be the answer, what if it was a rehab home that was bought for about 20% below fmv would anyone be able to do it under those circumstances?
    Thanks
