Samw profile photo

While I sitting here reading on this website(Iam browsing this website everyday as a matter of habit!!) I really want to call on all those of you who have benefitted from reading here and posting here like telling us how many deals or successes you have had after being here and interacting with people on here.
This thread and the related responses I hope is just the righ motivation for most people like me who have come here and learned so much

I will start by saying that I started on my Real Estate Investing only after getting on this board and meet a few great people and my partner from Real Estate is also from here smile

A benefit does not need to translate into deals or successes.

I benefit from what I read here by learning more about investment niches in which I do not currently participate. If my participation on this site puts another tool in my toolbox, then I am already ahead even if I don't have a deal in the wings.

Since there are 49506 registered users (as of this evening), I would venture to say that at least 49506 people have benefitted from this site. Of course, we have no way of really counting the thousands of unregistered visitors who may also have benefitted.

I agree with what you say Dave! But my effort was just trying to find some of the tangible successes

    I disagree with you dave.

"successes" is a broad term that many benifits can dirive from that are not monetary like "deals" would be. (hence, Samw 's use of the word: or )

I can list 3 for me that have nothing to do with money:

    1. I have learned much of the lingo that alows me to hold a conversation with many that are far above my knowedge level and therefore should aid in expanding my circle of influence.

    2. I have had the opportunity to meet some folks in my city that are successful in REI and have offered there knoledge to me.

    3. I am learning to be more colorful in my communications with people from Lufos, as not to be so dry or dydactic in my presentations.

i agree with what both dave and wheeler said. i knew about real estate and have been dabbling in the biz (what i came to learn from tci, being termed birddogging) for a few years but have since enriched my toolbox immensely. i know nothing to someone who KNOWS real estate, but to someone who knows nothing at all, i sound like a guru. i credit tci with the proper lingo and techniques to sound successful, which when you sound/act/feel it, leads to success ultimately. couple that with the rich friendships (online or otherwise) and partnerships/relationships, i am blown away by the site!!

deals-wise, for example, i never realized the idea of short sales until around november and i've gotten a couple shorts accomplished already. maybe not as fast as others, but i'm happy with the results. i can now look at a motivated seller and have so many techniques at my disposal to find/build/structure a deal from them.

Financially I have not benifited but in knowledge, the benifits are priceless. Looking at things from different angles is a must in any business. This site gives me the ammunition to think outside the box in REI.

My benefit has come in the form of expanded knowledge and a source for questions. Also my ideas have been broaden by the sheer exposure to soo many more creative ideas from this site.

Great place for knowledge to grow....

Motivation! It helps me to browse, read, etc... to MAKE something happen.

I have the same curiosity as Samw. I agree with all the other posters that have communicated their ability to take away knowledge, advice, and motivation from the forums...I have also and will continue to do so. I think TCI is an awesome site! But the question still begs to be asked, Who has turned these intangibles into tangibles. I don't know about the rest of you beginners but I'm not trying to break into the business to be motivated and well versed in REI. I want to secure my own future, provide for my young family, and position myself for an early and comfortable retirement! True, motivation and knowledge are the keys but keeping those keys in your pocket does little good. So who out there has taken these tips and turned them into greenbacks? I'd be more interested in hearing from recent additions to the market, say 2 years or less....from all the rest of you making cash I'm more interested in beating youto the punch on some solid investments and some continued excellent mentoring on this site.
