I know its whatever you can get but what is the ballpark range for someone that has the ability to find properties for investors?? % of purchase price or % of profits??

there've been numerous posts on bird dog fees. go to forum search and type in fees under bird dog forum. you'll get a lot of different answers, but it ultimately depends on how much work you're doing and how much info you're providing for the investor. The most important thing is get an independent contractor agreement signed w/ the investor(s) and/or make sure you're working with ethical people
    Best of luck

For many years we had 'Real Estate Specialists'(birddogs) work for us and the standard that we set in contract form was 10% of profit. That kept them committed to our cause, happy in the work and prepared them to take the Real Estate License and move onto a more expanded field of income. From there they became Loan Advisers and from that stage they usualy moved on establishing their own business either as Broker of Common Cause or Specialist Broker in a specific subsection of Real Estate.

My most sucessful member had a PhD in Psy. Got burnt out listening all day long to Patient after Patient. He then had to go home and hear even more stuff from his Wife of the Perpetual Whine. So one day he left. Sold the practice to some person who had very reduced hearing and could smile and nod knowingly without any impact. He came to me and started to run leads. He expanded, took the license and became a real heavy closer. I used to call him the Luftmenshe of Real Estate. His wife deprived of her crutch, opened up a vineyard that is known far and wide for its excellent whine, er wine.
