How do milestone approvals work before payment is released?

Milestone approvals make sure work is checked first, then payment is released after the work is verified.

How the flow works

  1. A project or work request is created.
  2. The work is completed or the milestone is reached.
  3. The owner, admin, or reviewer checks the work.
  4. The work is approved.
  5. PropBot then releases payment through the connected billing or payout flow.

What approval usually means

Approval can be based on things like:

  • photos
  • progress updates
  • completed tasks
  • documents or proof of work
  • a review by the owner or admin

What happens after approval

  • The related invoice or payout record can move forward.
  • Payment is then processed through Stripe.
  • PropBot keeps the approval and payment history tied to the same project or property record.

Good to know

  • Payments are not released until the work is approved.
  • The exact approval rules can depend on the project, company, or group.
  • Some payout flows also require Stripe Connect to be set up and in good standing.
  • If a company or group is not payout-ready yet, PropBot may block release until setup is complete.
