Are you asking how to find properties or are you asking what to do after you find them?

    Big,

I am reading your post to mean you want to learn how to be a real estate investor? Real estate investing is simple, but it is not easy. I recommend you read about wholesaling on this site, and go to your local REIA. Between the two, you will learn how to get started.

    Hi,

You can start off by doing some general reading about real estate investing. That way you can get an idea of which area(s) you’d like to focus on (wholesaling, rehabbing, landlording, etc.). There are lots of books on the topic, so you can get recommendations from other RE investors and/or you can go on Amazon and read the user reviews for the various books. You could also read RE message boards (like this one and others) and join a local real estate investment group.

Read and talk. Read real estate investment books like they were going out of style. Call every for sale by owner ad just to get used to talking to people. Call every mgmt company, realtor, lender you can and talk with them.
