RE Agents?

I am locate in the Chicagoland area and wanted to find out from the people on this group, how they went about using real estate agents for their wholesale deals. It is my thought that a lot of the homes on the MLS wouldn't make good wholesale deals because most of the good deals have been snatched up before they hit the MLS. Or at least ehy are few and far between. So how do you guys use your agents? Do you work something out with them that they call you when they find stuff prior to it hitting the MLS and if so how do you go about that? Do you just call offices up and ask for them to do that or is it a more detailed process? Also wanted to know of other ways of locating good wholesale deals. I have used driving neighborhoods, foreclosure lists. Have also heard of looking up divorces and bankruptcy, but what else have all of you had success with? I have a guy here that does hard money and wants someone who can wholesale him deals that he can pass on to his buyers list then lend them the money. So win-win fo everyone and I don't want to pass up this opportunity. Thanks

I have bought property listed on the mls through realtors at wholesale prices.

These properties were not listed at a wholesale price but they were bought for that.

I had one agent that laughed at me because of one offer, but she stopped laughing when they accepted it.
