Purchasing Long Distance

I have a house I'm looking at to purchase , but it is far away and I cannot meet with the owners physically , how can we go about signing the contract process so that it is legal? Via mail I'm guessing? or would it be okay to sign it , fax to them , they sign , fax back to me , or would the signatures being printed instead of actual ink become a problem when I get ready to assign contract to Investor? How do others purchase properties in different states? help. confused

I'm not sure why you'd want to buy the property in another state that is far away from you, but to address your question - yes you can fax the forms back and forth. I'd fax them the blank, have them sign and fax it back. Then have them overnight or first class mail the orginal to you. You can sign your end of the fax and send them back a copy if you choose. Everything should be fine. Keep in mind I'm not an attorney, so I'm just going by what I know.
