Use an attorney... $200 compare to the cost of your investment is worth it.

if you really want to "skimp" on dallars you can try one of the pre-paid legal websites and submit your contracts to them -just make sure their advise applies to your part of the www.country.I would still go to a local re attorney if you could -just price around.

Try your real estate agent. They will go over line by line for you and answer and questions you have.

my attorney does not charge me for contract preparations if I use their office to close the deal. They are the same price as the local title companies AND I get some good advice and contracts from her. Just a suggestion.

Many states have standard purchase contracts. That may not be so in your part of the country where attorneys are used to close RE transactions, but if your contract is a standard contract for NY, then a real estate agent should be able to explain it to you.[ Edited by edmeyer on Date 12/09/2004 ]
