First Time Flipper

I'm interested in flipping homes but don't have the slightest idea where to start. I'm currently reading any literature associated with real estate investing and in the process of receiving my real estate license to learn more about the business. Where do I start?

A real estate license is a good start, but you won't learn the creative real estate strategies you need to succeed:

    Here is what I recommend:

    1) Read extensively through the different forums on this and other Creative Real Estate message boards. You will learn about deals and different strategies to help you begin to decide what type of investing you would like to pursue.

    2) Attend your local real estate investment clubs. Here you can network with more experienced investors and get many of your questions answered.

    3) Read books by noted real estate investors (William Bronchik, Robert Shemin, Ron LeGrand, etc.) This should only cost you a couple of bucks and provide a good foundation of knowlege to build from.

    4) Find yourself a reputable real estate investment mentor. I have always been told that if you want to succeed at something find a person who is already succeeding at it and get real close to them. You may be lucky and find an investor willing to work with you as a birddog or you may have to invest some money in this area but the knowledge they share with you will save you many years of wasted time and money.

Bottom line is you have to equip yourself with as much knowledg as possible. Its an ongoing process that will take time and energy, but if you are really motivated you will succeed. Happy investing.

    DFresh,

Can you list some of the other message boards you recommend?

    Thanks,

    Chris
