website too big?

michaela profile photo

i'm a regular on another real estate site and i just came across this one. this is what keeps me from reading and writing a lot over here. the picture i'm getting on my monitor is of the left side of the site, so everytime i want to read a question i have to scroll to the right. every back click, scroll to the right again. it's very tedious and annoying. is there something i can do about that on my end? i would think others would have the same problem, unless they have a bigger monitor maybe (this site wouldn't be enough of a reason to buy a bigger monitor, sorry wink )
just wondering

    Michaelahhh,

Welcome on board this board. You are one of the finest and most knowldgeable posters in this real estate game. Your expertise is a welcome site to this site.

Joel, the main man here can answer your question.

    But, Michaelahhh, isn't bigger better?

    john,
thank you for your warm welcome, but you're giving me more credit than i deserve. i'm not that experienced as an investor. granted, i've lived off it full-time for 8 years, but i've learned through the 'school of hard knocks' and have so far stuck to rehabbing. am now getting my feet wet, thanks to you, on my first 'sub to' and am also doing a 'short sale' (or i guess, the bank will decide, whether i'll be doing the 'short sale' , we'll see) and am doing other creative stuff now.
    keep up the good advise

    Michaelahhh,

You have lived off creative real estate investing for the last eight years.

I did not give you enough credit. This should be an inspiration to the new person just getting started.

You are proof that "yes" you can make it as a real estate investor. When you started they did not have sites to go and ask questions. This is why the "hard knocks" came about. Today you can get serious answers that will help a person along in their career.

Do not let the monitor thing get in the way we need and respect having you here.

Sounds like you have a 14" monitor. But you can email directly and I can personally help you out with your problem. Maybe it is something with your settings or it could be with the size of the monitor. Or it could possibly be a simple change on my end to make the text wrap around or something.

We have three different monitors that we test the website out on. We have 14" 15" and 17". All of them look correct. Personally I like viewing the website on my laptop which has the 15" display. The 14" works but is too much scrolling for me.

I have my monitor settings at 800x600 and everything on the page fits on the screen.

When I change to 640x480, I see the same thing that you do -- the right side disappears and I have to scroll right to see it.

You solution may be a simple as changing your screen settings to a higher resolution.
