Why can't why put our email in the posts? It should be our decision to have people contact us or not, not the decision of the moderators of this site.

By not allowing us to do this, people are missing chances to get in contact with other people and make things happen.

In addition, some topics apply to more than one forum, so why can't we post our topics to a couple different forums to see what responses or help we can get.

Just curious to see what others think.

    Hi SolutionsKid,

Can't speak for the moderators but just an observation on my part:

I believe putting e-mail addresses in posts is discouraged to reduce harvesting by spammers... just a thought

I agree, but that goes back to my point...we are responsible for our on actions, which means if we know what could happen by putting the address out there and agree to it, then it is our own fault.

Hey Cincinnati, Coshocton here. It's not done by the moderators, it's done by the owners. I have witnessed many other sites which resmble living advertisements, with links to emails and urls etc... If you want someones email you just go to their profile and biga da banga da boom, it's there. There is also a private messaging system here and a chat room, so network all you want.

Again, I agree, but the only reason I bring this up is there have been times I have personally and others also have received a reply from someone new who doesn't visit the site hardly and didn't fill out their profile and says "email here and I will help you out"

That's the only downside I am talking about, missed opportunities. If we click an "I agree" button when we join this site which says that we are responsible for our email, etc etc then all should be good.

I just like having control of who I can talk to and vice versa. People will only put their email addresses in posts if they want people to contact them, so why not let them?

    SolutionsKid,

Can you imagine what would happen.

    Newbie - I have a problem with a tenant I need help.

Answer - I can help you email me at xyz.

What did any of us learn from this post?

Newbie - I need some help understanding short sales.

Board Hustler - I provide mentoring services email me at xyz.

Advertising against the policy of the board.

It would not be long before the posts would be swamped with e-mail me for the answer, e-mail me for this or that, rather than share with the other poster.

You have the ability to private message posters here if you need to talk. You can give out your e-mail address in a private message. Also you can list your e-mail address in your profile. There must be some reason some posters don't do this, probably because of spam.

Try to broaden your concept of what it takes to run a board. The moderators are kept busy as it is keeping the board hustlers, advertisers, porno posts and Nuts from posting. We try to keep this site a community of sharing and helping, if you let the e-mails rule then control is gone and you the poster loses.

If one person was allowed to do it, then all would be allowed to, so think about what I have said, I think you will agree our board is the best there is out there in internet land. We can all do our parts to keep it that way.

Yeah, I guess I can understand what you're saying, it could get messy, especially since the board is for all people to learn info.

Okay, well dang..there goes my picket line

    SolutionsKid,

What's your e-mail addy, I would like to answer your post privately.

I hoped it would make sense. Now if you really want to form a new picket line, I don't think there are enough avatar's to choose from here at TCI.
