Buying A Home
I have a general question with regards to buying a home. I am getting ready to close on a home and my mortgager calls me and says that the owner of the property has paid the Summer taxes prior to them being due and therefore I have to pay the taxes at closing. Is this true? Just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. Thanks ahead of time!

check your purchase agreement - if you are pro-rating the taxes from the date of closing, and they are prepaid, then yes, the seller should get the portion you are responsible for back.
