Beta Testers: What Other Occupations Are There In RE?
If you look on the MyTCI page and click on MyInfo, you will notice an occupation field. We want to include 99% of the occupations that people deal with.
In Version 3.0 you will be able to look for users in your area under a specific occupation.[ Edited by joel on Date 10/13/2003 ]

Personally, I'm an attorney. But I'm in a nontraditional practice, and I'm looking to take some of my time and talents and do real-estate related things, since I'm the son of two brokers, and the grandson of another.
I didn't get into the business before, but I want to at this juncture.
So your not a Real Estate Attorney. Or are you, and that is not an occupation that is on the list.

Hey I can't think of any others, but I know that people should be able to pick one or more...maybe up to a certain amount, because people will fall into more than one catagory.

Instead of "Realtor," how about real estate agent/broker? Somebody can be licensed as an agent or broker and not be a "realtor."
Also, how about "writer" "teacher" or "instructor"?

But your saying that Real Estate Attorney should be on the list.
OK, we can do that. I think if we get into working with Attorneys, there should be a subcategory of the type.

i'm sure you already have property managers...
i like the post above about agent/investors... i am a realtor, but I hardly ever use my license showing bob & mary a house and seldom look for listings..

I am a Ch-46E Mechanic (the chinooks little brother for all you army guys).
We could tie that into REI couldn't we?

You should definately make the distinction between Realtor, Broker and Salesperson. Please do not perpetuate the Myth that they are all the same.

There is a difference between a Broker and a Salesperson.
Yet, if the Salesperson belongs the Board of Realtors, I have seen many of them call themselves Realtors, when they are really Realtor Associates.
People (the public) think they are all the same, and they are not!
The people frequenting this Forum should be made aware of the difference.
