I have read a little about tax liens and do not know the laws or where to start. Can anyone tell me how to get into this? Thank you.

I suggest you do a search on the achives of this site for "ca" and "california." You will learn a lot. If you want to learn about some other state, search and read for that state also.

Also, read county treasurer/tax collect websites about the topic. Especially in the county in which you are interested.

Read the state statutes on the collection of delinquent property taxes. Do so at the law library, where you can read the "annotated" statutues, not just the "black law" or the statutes as they exist on the law books.

I sell a small book on CA tax sales. Send me an e-mail at **Please See My Profile** for more information.

    Hi RonaldStarr,
Does the book you sell cover things that would benefit me on Mo. tax sales? I plan to keep learning as much as I can whether I get any property this year or not. Also, where can I get a book about foreclosures? Or a web site or something that describes ALL about foreclosures. Thank you in advance SIR, for any help. Rick

You have mentioned John Beck several times on this website. I have read much criticism about him because after buying the intro product his people try to get you to buy very high priced mentoring which we all know is a waste and exploitative. I am not tryting to be rude but I am wonderung why you recommend this service. Thank you.

You will never have seem any posts from me recommending the "coaching" service that is sold by the telemarketing people with whom John Beck works. I recommend against expensive programs of this nature.

John Beck says that some of the people who have signed up for the coaching were well pleased with it. I don't know what percent of the participants that would be.

If you buy John Beck's "Free and Clear" material from his personal website, nobody will contact you about the coaching program. That is why I put that URL on the website. That would not necessarily be true if you contact the website maintained by the infomercial company. I have mentioned that site as a possible source for the materials. I do not provide the URL for that wibsite.

In my opinion, for the money, John Beck's material is the most comprehensive and a good deal. It is a little disorganized, but for the person who is a self-starter, it is a good place to begin.

I'm not sure how much help the book would be for you, as I wrote it for those of us here in CA.

I recommend that you go to the law library to read about foreclosure. There are books there written for attorneys, as well as the state statutes, which you can read in anotated editions.

I am interested in getting involved with tax lien sales but don't know where to start. Is anybody familiar with the Maryland, District of Columbia laws. Or can anyone offer advise on where to begin?

    Thanks,
