Ive been told that the local area newspapers run ads for tax liens but 2 papers later I cannot find anything in the Arizona republic.

Nope. And you shouldn't see any.
Two reasons.
Wrong time of the year. By AZ law all of the tax lien sales have to be done during the month of February. Notices are typically printed within a month before the sale.
Wrong newspaper. The notices for Maricopa County are published in the legal newspaper, not the general newspaper.
