I do not know if Trenton and Elizabeth have the same program. If they do, here is how it works.
It applies only to new construction of single and 2 family units, owner occupied. Upon being approved for the abatement the property owner is responsible to pay a minimum tax for a period of 5 years. At the end of 5 years the tax will return to it's normal rate.
