Question

Does anyone recommend any type of investing program that really works, I've seen a lot of infomercials like Carlton Sheets or another one I recall seeing in one of the forum's. Do these really work, if so is one better than the other. I've never bought or sold any properties, but I am getting close and I'm just wondering if I'm missing any special information before I begin. Thank you for any help. confused null

    yup, but not sheets.

I recommend John Locke and/or Ron Legrand. Get the education, it can only help....but run from sheeets.

I'm just kidding all you sheet fans. I've only heard negative info on him, but some like him. but Cash and Legrand are real good.

If you ever get a chance to learn from John Lane at www.taxsalelists.com, you will be one of the lucky ones. He will never steer you wrong. Buy his manuals and follow it religiously and you will make lots of money over time and lots of hard work. I'm one of his "disciples"

Actually, None of the programs work.

    ....It's you that works.

Just about every program out there has accurate information. They present it in different ways and to different depths. Each program, likewise, has produced both millionaires and people who think they wasted their money. The biggest difference is found within the students themselves, rather than the programs.

There has been lots of discussion on many of the programs and guru's. Read through the forums, and you'll figure out which one fits your personality and learning style the best.

    I agree with hibby..

The best suggestion I can give is find someone you trust who will mentor you. Do this by attending meetings/events regarding real estate transactions and finding someone you like and they like you. Be prepared for hard work and some "thank-less tasks" along the way. I never trust a "system" as I always feel someone is out to make a buck off me, and that if it was absolutely perfectly wonderful - they would be doing it night and day untiull that had more money than they knew what to do with.

You can learn a great deal just by surfing TCI. There are many members with various niche areas of expertise. Another great benefit is that you may find someone who very much complements your situation. If you have money and not much time you might find someone who has the time to find the good deals or vice versa. If you have specific questions on your first purchase, post them and you will get some good answers.

Welcome to TCI. I think you will enjoy the experience.

You probably can sell your option--assign it--to somebody else who has the money to exercise it.

It is true that there is no easy money to be made in tax liens or anywhere else legally. But you can certainly do very well investing in tax liens if you do your extensive homework. We all know the upside to buying tax liens. However, it is really important, actually vital, that you know the pitfalls to avoid. That is where John Lane's manuals come in extremely handy. He tells you what to avoid, how to avoid them, and what not to do. His 16 years of experience certainly helped launch my business in tax lien investing. So good luck and good investing!! But there are no short cuts. The problem with many other programs is that they usually don't tell you the downside, and many of those people have actually neveer purchased a tax lien before in their lives. They just write about them. So you'd be wasting your money buying their stuff!
