Suggest you carefully read Article (#6 right this minute) re "Quickest Course", as it shows how one "Flipper" is doing this very well.

It's just a matter of numbers-some are gonna respond, some aren't, and if one does enough in the manner suggested, how could it fail?

Good luck & let us know your success here.

If I'm not mistaken, New York is what's known as a "Certificate" state. Basically, all you should need to do is contact the county treasurer's office (going there in person is a good idea), give them the address or the tax parcel number (they may refer to them by other names), see if, in fact, the tax lein certificate is available for purchase, and buy it. Afterwards, if there's a redemption period, you'll have to wait for it to expire, then generally all you'll need to do is foreclose on the certificate, thus giving you ownership of the property in question. You should check with the Treasurer's office about how to proceed in a foreclosure situation, as the proceedure varies from state to state, as well as county to county. Hope this helps.
